About The

art

In cities, plants are tamed and shaped to fit an urban aesthetic, their growth guided solely for view. Cities are designed to suppress the wild; even weeds are erased, leaving only curated plants for visual pleasure. This mirrors how cities can alter human behavior, imposing rigid norms that make life exhausting for people and restrictive for plants alike. In this environment, I see myself as a shy, unobtrusive weed striving not to be uprooted. I long for the wildness of the forest, where trees and vines entwine in unrestrained growth. This natural chaos represents a state of existence marked by freedom and resistance, a testament to the will to exist and the pursuit of legitimacy for each living being. I wait for light, and the vines twist and turn, reaching towards it, embodying this relentless drive for freedom and survival.
